Bourdain Brings Me Home
Most of us get caught up in speed of life. Hardly ever do we live in the moment and truly enjoy and appreciate our own existence. If we are not planning for the future, near or far, we are dwelling on the past.
I don’t like to post quotes much because I think one should be inspired to produce their own quotes to share with the world. On rare occasions I hear something that brings me back down to Earth and puts me in my place, and this is one of them.
“It seems that the more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn. Maybe that’s enlightenment enough – to know that there is no final resting place of the mind, no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom, at least for me, means realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go.” -Anthony Bourdain (No Reservations – Peru)
Every once in a while, bring yourself back down to Earth. Let somebody put you in check. Stop and put the wide angle lens on. Love the people in your grasp, and live in the moment.
